She had attended St. John's School in Maria Stein, and worked at Crown Equipment Corp. in New Bremen for some 32 years, and retired as a high speed print operator, in 1997. She was a part of many mail order sewing and craft clubs where she hand made many crafts. She loved to travel, and she was able to visit 49 states – Hawaii being the only state she did not see. Jo was a member of the Auglaize County Council of Aging, the Crown 25 Year Club, and enjoyed researching and recording family genealogy.
