Entered into his rest with the Lord on December 12, 2017 at the Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, after a period of declining health.

He was born into the family of Emil J. and Louetta S. (Wietholter) Topp on May 30, 1928. After the passing of his mother at three years of age, he became the stepson of Edna (Grewe) Wierwille Topp.

He graduated in the class of 1946 from New Bremen High School, and married his classmate and sweetheart Anna Mae Quellhorst, having been married 61 years at the time of her passing in 2010.

Everet had been a Nationwide Insurance agent for many years, as well as being a member of the New Bremen Fire Department, the Home Benefit Association, the former New Bremen Lion's Club, the New Bremen Rod and Gun Club, the National Guard, and St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen.

Among his many interests were golfing, travel, hunting, fishing, socializing, and attending his grandchildren's activities over many years.
He is survived by his three sons and their families; Gene (Ellen) Topp of New Bremen, Gregory (Kathleen) Topp of Hilliard, Ohio, and Dr. Gary (Katherine) Topp of Fredericksburg, Ohio, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one step great-grandson. Two brothers, Willis and Charles, preceded him in death.

The family is grateful to the staff of Elmwood Assisted Living who cared for him during his stay.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, with Dr. Gary Topp, and Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling hours will also be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the church.
