EDWARD A. BUSHMAN age 78

of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of New Bremen, Ohio, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the early morning hours at his residence. He was born on August 11, 1936 on the family farm near New Knoxville, Ohio. He was the son of the late William G. and Pauline (Egbert) Bushman. On June 19, 1983 he married Aurora Catalan who survives in Columbus. Also surviving are his children, Cindy Phlipot, Kim (Glenn) Taflan, and Scott (Donna) Bushman all of Westerville, OH, seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister Enola (Wilbur) Greber, and a sister-in-law Betty Bushman, both of New Bremen, and a step-mother Florene Bushman of Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Bushman, a brother William Bushman, Jr., and a sister Laverta Price.

Edward was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. He was engaged in farming for most of his life, and also had his own produce stand and tackle shop business. He enjoyed going to auctions and collecting various items. He also enjoyed dancing, especially square dancing, woodworking, and tinkering in his spare time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, 225 W. Monroe Street, New Bremen, Ohio, with the Rev. Becky Erb Strang officiating. Burial will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony Parish, 1300 Urban Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43229. Condolences to the Bushman family may be left at gilberghartwigfh.com.
